Cubano Sandwich

We make our sandwiches and eat them, too! Our French Roll is perfect for stuffing with all the classic ingredients in a Cubano sandwich! Every bite is oh-so satisfying, you’ll never even miss all those carbs!

French Roll Prep Time: 10 minutes
French Roll Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Cubano Prep Time: 5 minutes

French Rolls:
3 large eggs
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 cup shredded gruyere cheese
4 tablespoons plain cream cheese
1 ½ cups almond flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
Cubano Filling:
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons yellow mustard
2 ounces pulled pork or carnitas
2 ounces of sliced deli ham
2 slices of dill pickle


Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

To make the keto buns, melt shredded cheese and cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl and stir very well to combine.

Mix 2 eggs, almond flour, baking powder and sea salt in a large mixing bowl, making sure there are no clumps.

Pour in melted cheese and stir well to combine.

Form 2 rectangles with your hands and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten a bit with your hand.

Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, then brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining egg, then bake 10 more minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing each French roll in half and spreading each sandwich with mayonnaise and mustard and filling with pulled pork or carnitas, sliced ham, Swiss cheese and dill pickle.

Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
