We love a hot shrimp cocktail as the days have been cold. These tasty shrimp will warm you up and satisfy your body’s need for healthy carbs and protein!

2 tablespoons butter or ghee
2 garlic cloves, peeled & minced
1 pound of medium shrimp, tail-on & deveined
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon dried red chili flakes
Juice from ½ fresh lemon
Heat butter or ghee in a cast-iron skillet set to medium-high heat.
Add minced garlic to the pan and toss until it is browned, about 2 minutes. Remove garlic from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, increase the heat to high and place shrimps on the pan in an even layer. Season with sea salt, pepper and chili flakes. Do not move once in the pan and seasoned. Sear on each side for 1 minute.
Remove from the pan and toss with the browned garlic. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over it all.
Serve immediately, with your favorite garnish such as chipotle seasoned mayo or hot sauce.
Store any leftovers in the fridge in a glass container for up to 3 days.
