Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes + 4 hours to chill in the fridge

Ingredients:

Prep Time: 1 hour

Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes

Ingredients:

Flakey Crust:

1 cup fine almond flour

8 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon xanthan gum

⅛ teaspoon fine sea salt

3-4 tablespoons ice-cold water

1 large egg (to use as an egg-wash, not to add to the dough)

Mixed Berry Filling:

2 cups fresh mixed raspberries, blackberries and OR blueberries

2 packets of of Real Ketones Prime Shift D-BHB Caffeinated Mixed Berry powder

Instructions:

Prepare the crust:

Unwrap the butter and place in the freezer on a plate for at least 30 minutes so that it becomes very cold.

Remove from the freezer and slice in cubes.

Add the almond flour, xanthan gum and sea salt to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until mixed well, then add the cubes of frozen butter and pulse until it is well-combined and a dough starts to form.

Add ice-water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough has finished forming. It will be slightly sticky, but firm enough to handle.

Form into a bowl and place it in a bowl in the fridge until ready to roll out and use.

When ready to roll out, place it between two sheets of parchment paper and roll out flat, so that it is 1” thick. Place it on a baking tray and keep it in the fridge until you are ready to use it for your turnovers.

Prepare the mixed berry filling:

Add mixed berries to a bowl and mash with a fork. Stir in the packets of Real Ketones Prime Shift D-BHB Caffeinated Mixed Berry powder until a thick paste has formed.

Cut the pastry dough in 8 4” triangles (4 triangles will be the bottom of each pastry and 4 will be the top). Add a big scoop of the mixed berry filling to the center of each base triangle and secure the top by using your fingers to seal each triangle. Make sure they are completely sealed so that the filling does not leak out while they bake.

You can create optional slits on the tops of each pastry with a butter knife.

Brush each pastry with egg wash.

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, so that the pastry dough is golden in color. Keep an eye on the pastries after 20 minutes, so that they do not burn.

Remove from the oven and let cool a few minutes prior to serving.

Serving between 4, storing any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Enjoy!
